There are moments when our lives when we can fix things on our own and at other times we need the help of others. I had lost the internet connection, couldn't even do dial-up. I didn't give up, but I did call cable and seek their help as well. I had come to realize something important too, how dependent we are on the internet as a source of news. I don't read the newspapers, nor do I have a habit of watching tv. I have read most of the news on the internet, in fragments. In the case of what is important and what is not.
Plus this morning put a hold on my doing a daily Gospel reflection. Last night I started it, but left the reflection for this morning. Only problem I couldn't do it. As I began my reading for the day I came across a delightful prayer for those who are part of vocations and those who are discerning over at Consecrated Life by the Pope. There is one thing about saying yes to a vocation, a person finds a different peace when they are on the path that is theirs. No matter if it's called to the married life, single life, religious life, there is a peace within when we are where we belong. I just hope it doesn't take others as long to answer their call.

I thought the reason for your disappearance was due to your cold, but I am glad that was not the case.
I, too depend on the internet for news as well as some Catholic Community time via the blogs.
Also for my hobby of knitting as well. I also check the am and evening news on WCVB tv.
This is a techno age, and we are lost without it.
We can't expect ourselves to live in the middle ages in the 21st century! LOL.(even those enclosed nuns I am acquainted with watch tv, catch the news, and see a dvd every now and then!) But there is a place for assessing our dependency, I agree.
I pray as you continue your discernment process, MC.
Question:If you don't mind my inquiring... is your quest geared to finding your particular "charism" first or solely on entering Consecrated Life as a religious and finding a community at this stage?
Hi Teresa, the cold and a few other things have kept me away from blogging. I will expound on them when I get home from work. I was upstairs watching the deers through the windows, we haven't seen them in a while and it was such a joy after asking to see them. God is so good. Got to love him for all that he does and doesn't do.
