I discovered when we do things out of expection of others to please them., we are not doing it to please God, or for that matter doing his will but the will of others. Out of this discernment true happiness is following what God wants for us, not what others want from us. I saw something wonderful with the Eucharist and in my thinking it was for me to be involved in what I thought the church wanted, not necesarily what God wanted.

So now that I understand why I have happiness, in one regard but not in the other, is because I put myself where I do not belong.
