I'm Alive

This morning as I do every day is listen to religious music while at work. Since I work with Spanish speaking people who don't speak English too well, they talk and listen to music in their own language. For me it's consoling to have something to listen to that I understand and from there I understand how difficult it can be for them to communicate when the language is hard to speak. It's like putting ourselves in others shoes and for me it's seems to be the way it is. The one job I had that was truly great to work at had so many people from different places, yet we managed to understand in spite of not understanding each others language too well. And I loved each one of them because they value who they are. Unlike us at times, we take for granted how we seem to know so much and yet know so little.

Well anyway while listening to some songs, I wondered why some thoughts about songs would come to mind. So tonight I am listening to Celine Dion for a change, but what caught my attention was one song in particular, I'm Alive. I don't know what it is or why it happens, but when I listen to them I think about God and what he does for me or for that matter for all of us. But this one I loved hearing because I truly feel alive when I am immersed in thoughts of God. And to think these songs are about people in love, and for me that is where I am with God, in love with him.

I have put the video of Celine's song from YouTube here . It doesn't exactly relate in video what the song speaks to the heart of, and for me it is all about our Lord. Sometimes those videos destroy what the song seems to make us imagine. Is that what we begin to envision when we hear songs that speak of love, the love of a spouse, the love of God and so one. And yet none of us think alike when the same song plays. What do we see in our thoughts when we hear a particular song that tells of a love between a heart and soul. Does it speak to us of God's love for us also or do we see it as something else. I wondered about this at times.

I know exactly what you mean, mc. That's the wonderful thing about beautiful music and lyrics, how they can speak to our hearts and souls, and raise our thoughts from earthly romance to the Beloved. Thanks for sharing this song and video.

Your very welcome gabrielle. I think it's great that such music can bring God to mind. Then the Holy Spirit has done wonders.
