Panis Angelicus

A beautiful song called Panis Angelicus I heard during Mass. It was sung during communion and it touched my heart so deeply. I went in search of it and came across two of them sung. I put one on my other blog and this one on this blog. I had to share it, because it is too beautiful to hold onto. This video is of Frank Tenaglia singing and the lyrics I came across are posted below.

PANIS ANGELICUS
Cesar Franck

Panis angelicus
Fit panis hominum;
Dat panis coelicus
Figuris terminum;
O res mirabilis!
Manducat dominum

Pauper, pauper
Servus et humilis.
Pauper, pauper
Servus et humilis.

Panis angelicus
Fit panis hominum;
Dat panis coelicus
Figuris terminum;
O res mirabilis!
Manducat dominum

Pauper, pauper
Servus et humilis.
Pauper, pauper
Servus, servus et humilis.

HEAVENLY BREAD
Heavenly bread
That becomes the bread for all mankind;
Bread from the angelic host
That is the end of all imaginings.
Oh, miraculous thing!
This body of God will nourish

Even the poorest,
The most humble of servants.
Even the poorest,
The most humble of servants.

Heavenly bread
That becomes the bread for all mankind;
Bread from the angelic host
That is the end of all imaginings.
Oh, miraculous thing!
This body of God will nourish

Even the poorest,
The most humble of servants.
Even the poorest,
The most humble of servants.

I know I said I wasn't going to post for awhile but when I read the English words to the song I understood why I felt such joy when I heard the song sung. The bread from heaven for all mankind. How true it is too. I was recalling a video of the Lamb at the time and the truth of God's great love. But it was also the Gospel reading that really touched my heart the most. The forgiveness of the woman who washed the feet of our Lord with her tears. I remembered the time I too was at the Lord's feet crying for his forgiveness and received it. I'll never forget that day that I knelt at the foot of the Blessed Sacrament and cried from the depths of my soul and literally washed his feet with my sorrow for my sinfulness. When I heard the homily about this today I had come full circle and realized that he did forgive me, it's just the people around us that have a hard time with sinners, they are like the Pharisees in the Gospel always in judgement of those who are not like them.

For three years plus some I have had a fantastic journey since I have had the most wonderful experience a person could ever have. Today I have come to the realization of the whole thing. It wasn't easy believe me to understand the pictures I was given and the purpose behind them. Some I still don't understand, but then that is the beauty of God in his love. He gave me glimpses of heaven. He gave me the Trinity, but most of all he gave me the Lamb of God. Where he is so alive. I don't doubt for a minute that he is alive in this precious gift for mankind. And for that particular reason the song that was sung at Mass during communion was all the more special.

For the last few days at work I have been working non-stop without a break while there for close to eight hours and it had me so tired that I didn't want to write or do anything else for that matter. I was so discouraged to work that hard for less than what I did before when I lost my job when the department eliminated nine positions. But what hurt me the most was being told to clock out and then to stay and help for close to 45 minutes, and to return a tip given to me to cover a night shortage. Two days of this and I was at my wits end and crying on my way home and asking our Lord what it is he is asking of me. But then I came to understand that I have the strength to do what is asked of me and to go about what I need to do. That no matter what is put before me he gives me the strength to do it. Right now what is important is that I am working and God is good. I am where I am to discover what I need to. And God is so very good.

The Frank melody is beautiful. Many times I have played it as a solo for the Offertory.

I'll have to listen to that melody to know, the one's I found all seemed the same. But inept as I am in this department it must have to do with the tempo. How blessed you are to be able to play music that rises to heaven for our heavenly Father's ears. That's awesome.

The Frank melody is that the one I originaly posted by any chance?

Unfortunately, I cannot get many graphics and audio to load on my computer. ...especially YouTube.
I have a lot of anti virus stuff and a thick firewall, and I know they are not configured properly.
So, as to your question, I don't know MC.

It's sounds like your heavily armed over there Teresa_anawim. Some of the graphics are nice, youTube is new to me too. I've never really checked it out that much except when others have one on their blog.
Someday soon you may be able to see one on YouTube.

I can get them directly from the YouTube site..it's the links on the blogs that won't load properly.
Photos are the same.Some Wordpress sites I can go away for 20 minutes and they still haven't finished loading!!!

Re: clocking out and then staying to work longer. I certainly hope you were paid for those 45 minutes. If not, those are unfair practices.
I worked retail for 9 years. It is very tiring. I found that bringing along a change of shoes for mid-shift was helpful and eased my back a bit. They also allowed for a certain amount of shortage..$3.
Once I was 100.00 short after an air conditioner sale. Yep...those digits are not a typo. 100 big ones!
The customer distracted me while I counted out the money.
The next person in line saw exactly what happened and after his purchase went directly to the manager and reported on my behalf. The next time the air conditioner buyer came into the store the manager confronted her with the fact that there were witnesses and that the entire incident was on video camera. She returned the money.
It was not until THEN, when she returned the money that the manager told me of the shortage...otherwise I would have been a nervous wreck since I was living hand to mouth at that particular time and only had 4 hours work a day.
Retail is not fun..it is W_O_R_K.
I am always kind to cashiers , sales people and helpers on the floor because I have been there.
One thing I NEVER say when I go through the checkout is "Have a nice weekend".!!! LOL That used to make me feel bad. I never had 2 consecutive days off.

teresa_anawim I used to have a problem with some pages loading until I reinstalled windows. Plus every now and then I clean out the cookies and temp files. I don't know why your having trouble commenting on here. But I do know what you mean when it does happen cause it's happened to me too.

As for work, no I don't get paid for that extra time off the clock. But it might be par for the course in getting the hours close to 40 rather than 20. I just don't want to cry everytime I leave there.

You were lucky that they managed to get the money back too. As for shortage I don't think it's much for us either. And your right about it being work too. I've worked at a convenience store when I first started back in the workforce 10 years ago and this job is nothing like it, it's stressful and it's a constant go go go to get things ready and once people come in it's a rush to get them taken care of and out the door. It reminds me of an assembly line. Happiness is important on the job, unfortunately when working like a slave it's hard to be happy and this isn't complaining it's the truth. It's the hardest thing to go for a job that you know will hire you because of getting older and other places won't. But for now it is a job, and my resume is being sent out to many places in hope's that one will say, we want you.

This is one of the most beautiful renditions I have heard in a long time. The purity of the boys' voices is so moving. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fr9Do5ZxPZA

Pia, I like that new name. The one with the boys choir is very beautiful, I used it on my other blog. I didn't want to put the same one on both blogs.
