Small Part of the World

Trying a little something different today, I thought I would share some pictures instead. Click on the pictures to enlarge them for better viewing. This part of the brook is on my parent's property, this is the one that I had the grace to hear it as sweet music one day.
Water flowers, a precious gift. They are so pretty.
This is where I stand and look off into the distance at different angles though, this one is straight to the back where beyond the stone wall is a beavers dam.
While taking my walk, I went beyond the stone wall to look at the beaver's dam and found this one flying close by unafraid. I never saw this type of bird before, it had just caught a bug to chomp on. There were quite a few of these at the dam.
The beavers dam and the small section of an area that was also made a part of the dam but a small pool. There is another dam off to the back to the right that is part of the waterway. The brook actually branches off at that point long before the beavers came in. They dammed up both and created a huge pond with smaller ponds just below the major dams. Ah well now that explains the small pool below the dam. Well, I can explain it eventually.

The azaleas are pretty, but more so when the beautiful Bumble Bees are dashing about collecting their goodies. They were having a feast on the pink ones, and checked out the purples but didn't bother with them too much.
This little one was discovered on it's back at the side of the area where I was rototilling the garden. Don't know where it was before, and glad it was okay. I picked it up and put it in another spot, feisty little one when I was walking with it in the container, I thought it was going to nose dive out of the dish. They definitely are not slow.

Hello MC!! Very nice pictures! Nice place to contemplate. Thanks for sharing. And i have been a browser of your site for many months. I like the way you write and the way you express yourself in words. In short i can read your soul but because of my curiosity as an avid reader of you blogs i wish someday it is not only the soul that i could see but the picture of you. :))

MC, thank you for the lovely walk in the woods. That bird is lovely! I wonder what it is? I've never seen one like that either.

Hi, and thank you. There is a picture of me on here with my Dad, I think it was put on a few months ago. But I will see what I can do, lol I don't take very good pictures.

FMN, I looked it up in the bird book and I believe it is a black and white warbler. A real treat to capture one on film. And thank you too.

Really lovely pictures, mc. You're so lucky to have such a beautiful, quiet nature-filled place to walk and pray and think. It would be beautiful in every season I'm sure.

It is Gabrielle, but it is not mine. It belongs to God and my parents are the current caretakers. It is beautiful though no matter what season. I just hope the area doesn't get too developed as the neighbor is selling off the land back there. It's God's land that's for sure.

Very pretty pictures. I seem to remember your request for prayer when your parents were having trouble with a well. The Spiritual Children of Saint Rita (at the request of Mr. Paul Melanson) prayed for your parents and the prayers were answered. How soon we forget.

Jules, interesting that you mention the very same thing I was thinking about a few days ago. How I wrote to the Spiritual Children of Saint Rita for this and Mr John Ansley had replied all through email. It is an answered prayer that I will never forget, during a period of my life when I was learning about a gift. Your thoughtfulness is appreciated.
