A French Song

I woke up to a tune or should I say words of a song. An unusual one, since it was in French. They are Il est ne, le Divine enfant. I know this song from long ago, but one I have not heard recently. I don't know why this particular one came through, but as always God has his own way of speaking. It is then up to me to discern. The Christ child is born, has been born and continues to be born within each of us. No life is without being touched by this little one.

Christmas is a joyous time for many, but throughout the years it has faded and become a materialistic holiday. One that the meaning of Christ's birth has been uprooted. How we forget it is this birth we celebrate, the life given to us, the price he paid to come to us as Man, and then to loose it by our hands.

How worthy then am I Lord, for a world that condemns you when all you did was come to save us. How through the years God sent you in innumerable ways to bring us closer to you and all we did was close our eyes to your saving grace. Now as we celebrate a beginning, the reenactment of your birth in our lost and confused world. We see less and less of the meaning of this beautiful coming of God as man.Where a holy light did shine to bring the magi to your side to gift you with the first gifts to be given.

I pray that this year will be a year of rebirth of faith for you dear Father, that many will come to know and love you as you should be loved.
