Prayer to our Redeemer

Prayer to our Redeemer

Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, heal me.
Blood of Christ, cover me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
Good Jesus, hear me.
In your wounds shelter me.
From turning away keep me.
From the evil one protect me.
At the hour of my death call me.
Into your presence lead me,
to praise you with all your saints
forever and ever. Amen

This prayer I love to recite anytime. It reminds me of the souls song, where the Body and Blood of our Lord paid a high price for our salvation.

This takes me to a reading in 1Peter 1:3-7, where I continually seek my path.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who in his great mercy gave us a new birth to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you
who by the power of God are safeguarded through faith, to a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the final time.
In this you rejoice, although now for a little while you may have to suffer through various trials,
so that the genuineness of your faith, more precious than gold that is perishable even though tested by fire, may prove to be for praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Heaven is ours when we seek it. No matter how short or long we live, if it is lived in the life of Jesus and the way of God, heaven is the hope of all salvation.
